Lily Pearman-‘Talking colour’

- When I looked at talking colour I focused on the pinks, greens and even bright colours that shape and add more vibrance to what surrounds us I included fuscia, emerald, neon green and more.
- When first thinking about colours and how they change the way we view the world all around us, it differentiates our emotions and thoughts, as on miserable wintery day, where the colours feel faded because it’s cold and misty the colours feel almost impacted by how you feel that day, as everyone views everything differently through there eyes. The splashes of colour create more of a interesting pop and makes us focus on the drawings more.
- Even though some of my images are not focused you can tell when talking about colour I always think about what colours brighten up my day or even create this abnormality that people would not always wear intense colours on there way to work but as a student at art school, these wonderful and dynamic colours bring more of source of inspiration of what I would love to wear but maybe to afraid to.
- In these drawings I used both watercolours, acrylic paints, mirroring and even used my brush to use the page to make prints of the colours I focus on.
- I went into depth with a image I sourced from a flower market which was a celosia flower and almost shows a artificial yet and the real colours of the flower seen in one of my images, linking to talking colours and what we would find in a park or a market in London creating energetic and vivid palette as a source of information.
- The attention of these very modern and neon colours ,that were really brought in the 60s and that none really wore until this the 21st century , these colours are out-there and original ,the came about when the internet was formed and made, I think many people started feel more comfortable wearing these bright greens, pinks and more.
- Furthermore I will try to follow this similar approach to my other themes and why when looking at a colour palette it does not always have to be two colours.
- Overall when looking at this project Introduction to fashion embroidery it has expanded my knowledge of colour and how it can be expressed throughout my work.
